* HISTORY OF ISTE *
The ISTE Institute offers teams of individual educators a powerful, relevant, and sustainable professional development program.
Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) has its headquarters at NEW DELHI. ISTE has over 430 CHAPTERS and they are expected to be the most vibrant group in the organizational structure of ISTE. A programmes unit was set up at the head quarters in Delhi by the Human Resource Development in 1972 with the objective of coordinating various quality improvement programmes and organizing summer /winter school programmes for engineering colleges and polytechnic teachers. Grounded in ISTE's widely adopted National Educational Technology Standards (NETS), the program includes a well-paced mix of face-to-face sessions; online, self-directed, and collaborative activities; and expert mentoring. ISTE represents more than 85,000 teachers, teacher educators, library media specialists, administrators, and decision makers. ISTE services focus on strategic, standards-based solutions for curriculum integration, technology planning, and assessment.
